What happens after you flush the toilet?
This was the question posed to the CEOs this week by Marshall Schrader, the District Superintendent of the Galesburg Sanitary District.
He was joined by Brandi Young, the Plant Superintendent and Eric Oliphant, the Plant Chemist.
99.9% of the Galesburg population doesn’t put much thought into that question🤓.
We learned the chemistry and biology behind waste removal and the purification process.
The Galesburg collection system has 160 miles of pipes that guide the waste to the treatment facility.
Thankfully, Marshall and his crew do a fantastic job.
As Marshall says, “It’s a crappy job, but someone has to do it!”
Thanks Marshall, Brandi and Eric for flushing away problems and having a clean/Sanitary site visit for the CEOs!
