WHAT CEO BOARD MEMBERS DO
Board members are active, engaged community leaders who volunteer their time and expertise to the operational oversight of our local CEO Program.
Facilitator Support: Board members provide ongoing support to the CEO Facilitator.
Event Planning: Board members plan and execute key CEO events, including investor and mentor socials, and the student trade show.
Student Recruitment & Selection: Board members organize recruitment efforts, engage with local schools, and oversee the selection of CEO students.
Mentorship Coordination: Board members recruit mentors, manage mentor-student pairings, and ensure mentor program success.
School Liaison: Board members maintain communication with school administrators to coordinate student participation and scheduling.
Investor Recruitment & Care: Board members recruit and maintain relationships with local investors, ensuring the program's financial sustainability.

Director of ROE ServicesBoard MemberKathryn E. Jennings, is a current resident of Abingdon. She graduated from Avon High School in 2004 and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Education in 2008 from Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. She immediately started her teaching career in the fall of 2008 and just completed her 17th year as an educator. Lifelong learning is a true passion and deep-rooted value of hers. She graduated from Western Illinois University with a Master's of Science degree in Education as a reading specialist in 2012 and a second Master's of Science in Educational Leadership in 2017 for principal licensure. In 2023, she completed the superintendent program and earned her superintendent's license. She is currently completing her doctorate in Educational Leadership. In her education career, she taught K-12 in some capacity: 9-12th grade English at ROWVA High School and Abingdon-Avon High School; 9-11th grade reading and served as a K-12th grade reading specialist, literacy coach , and RTI coordinator; K-5th grade principal at Nielson Elementary School; 5-6th grade Dean of Students at Lombard Middle School; and a district curriculum specialist for Dunlap School District. She also coached cheerleading and volleyball. In the community, Katie has enjoyed many years supporting the Knox County Queen Pageant. Her daughter Camdyn was the 2018 Knox County Little Miss Queen. Their family actively attends Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, and she will be serving on the Grace Lutheran Church Council. Katie also just joined the Knox County CEO Board. She has also supported youth sports for the past 17 years coaching basketball, football, baseball, and softball. Her husband of 16 years is Greg Jennings, a Knox County Sheriff's Department Sergeant of Investigations, and they have three children: son, Collin (15); son, Connor (12); and daughter, Camdyn (11). They enjoy amusement parks and have traveled to several together, including Six Flags Theme Parks. They enjoy watching their children play sports, participating in their many school activities, and chasing after their new puppy, Knox. Their family spent many years enjoying time with their retired K9 Edo, who passed in December. Katie’s latest role has been with the Regional Office of Education #33, serving alongside Jodi L. Scott and Lori Loving. She was the Director of ROE Services for ROE#33 and the Education for Employment System Director of Delabar Career and Technical Education System. She has served in this role since July 1 of 2021.
